Afton is a third year MD-PhD student at the Penn State University College of Medicine. She is originally from Seattle, Washington, but has spent the last few years in the Midwest and Northeast. Her interests in medicine and research include leveraging math and computational modeling to improve cancer treatment. Afton is also drawn to LGBTQ+ advocacy in healthcare, which has led her to be involved with her local chapter and efforts to improve LGBTQ+ education at her campus. In her free time, she enjoys knitting and sewing, baking bread, and teasing her roommate’s cat.

Class of 2024

Sydney is currently a second-year medical student at SUNY Upstate in Syracuse, NY. They received a B.S. in Biology from SUNY Geneseo with minors in interdisciplinary studies including the fields of sociology, psychology, anthropology. She is passionate about reproductive justice, disability justice, and LGBTQ+ health and hopes to continue to find ways to incorporate all of these interests into her future career. Sydney loves rollerblading, running, reading, and listening to podcasts!

Vanderbilt University School of Medicine
Class of 2024

Kevin is a third-year medical student at Vanderbilt University School of Medicine. Prior to medical school, he graduated from Brown University with an Sc.B. in Applied Mathematics and Computer Science and worked as a software engineer at a health database management company. Professionally, he is interested in anesthesiology and clinical informatics (especially exploring ways to use technology to improve health equity). Outside of medicine, he enjoys playing tabletop games, baking desserts, and fiddling with his mechanical keyboard collection.

Class of 2024

Taylor is currently a 3rd year medical student at Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson Medical School. In 2018 they graduated from Swarthmore College earning a B.A. in Neuroscience. Before entering medical school, Taylor worked as a research assistant at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia, working in pediatric neuroimaging. Outside of academics, Taylor can be found running, swimming, biking, or hiking.
